Governors

The school governing body is made up of people from the school's community. Their role, together with the headteacher, is to set the future direction of the school and decide how the school's budget is spent. The governing body makes decisions on issues such as performance targets, school policies and the school improvement plan. Because our governors have a variety of skills and experience, they are able to support and advise the headteacher. They respond to government initiatives and inspection recommendations, hear appeals and consider complaints.
In addition to the headteacher, a teacher governor and a support staff governor, the governing body is made up as follows:

  • 6 parents
  • 5 community governors
  • 3 nominated by the Local Authority, Richmond Council
  • 1 sponsor governor linked to our science specialism
