Parents' Association

Welcome to all parents and carers. The PTA is a great way to make friends, meet other parents and support this fantastic school.

The PTA values your views and you can support us in lots of ways, such as:

  • Coming along to monthly meetings
  • Signing up for the school 'lottery', the 50/50 club
  • Joining us for "Dig Day"gardening sessions
  • Coming along to social events such as the Quiz Night
  • Donating raffle prizes
  • Helping us provide refreshments at school events
  • Offering your talents
  • Providing professional support to the PTA such as fundraising or accountancy
    advice

 

The PTA has paid for brand new squad kit for the hockey and netball teams who represent Waldegrave.  The girls designed the kit themselves and we hope it will give them the professional edge in future competitions!

Make money by shopping online

If you shop online regularly via the website www.thegivingmachine.co.uk there will be no cost to yourself but the companies will make a small donation to the school.  All the major supermarkets and shops are there from Amazon to B&Q.  It is easy to sign up as follows:

  1. Click on Join and then click Join as a Giver
  2. Click Find Beneficiaries and then enter Waldegrave and search
  3. Click choose next to Waldegrave School and then SAVE
  4. You will then be asked to enter your details i.e. name, email, postcode and a password to register.
  5. You can then go shopping!

Peel2Save

The PTA is offering a new scheme, Peel2Save.  It offers 64 deals from more than 30 local businesses and can save you up to £300 if you take advantage of all the discount offers.  Cards cost £10, of which £5 is donated to us.  We have cards for two areas to start with - Twickenham and Teddington/Hampton Hill/Hampton.  Please click here to download an application form and return it to the school office post-box with your payment in an envelope marked Waldegrave School PTA - Peel2Save.

PTA donations to school 2010-11

The PTA donated nearly £6000 to school for new equipment and workshops which were beyond the normal budget.  New equipment included laptops, computer software, a DVD-video recorder, art equipment, noticeboards, visual learning materials for maths, outdoor play equipment, religious artefacts and talking books.

We also funded Zumba dance sessions, Book Week and language workshops, ensuring there was something for everyone!.

PTA food and drinks

The PTA provides drinks and snacks for students and parents at school events such as the summer and Christmas concerts and Parents' Consultation Meetings.  Any profits go towards PTA projects such as buying the equipment listed above so please come and support us.

 

News

LATEST PROJECT

The PTA is now raising money for visualisers in the classrooms. They are light, portable, high-tech projectors which don't require overhead slides and can enhance teaching.

NETBALL COURTS 

The PTA is delighted to have completed three new netball/tennis courts, joint-funded with school. The PTA contributed £25,000, plus a further £5000 generously donated by Hampton Fuel Allotments.School Fund.

This year the school fund is being collected through the PTA which is a registered charity (Charity Number 297288) so that we can reclaim gift aid at no extra cost to you.  For every £1 you donate we can get an extra 25p in reclaimed tax if you are a UK tax payer, making your donation go even further. Thank you to those parents who have already donated generously to the school fund.  Donations to the school fund enable the school to provide the school planner, rewards, some extra activities and resources which cannot be funded from the revenue budget.

Quiz Night

This was a such a fun evening.  We made a fantastic £2,030.  

May Ball 2011

This big event raised a recording breaking £7348 for the PTA.  Thanks to everyone who came and supported us and made it such a great night.  All the money we raised will go into school projects


 

50/50 Club

The '50/50 club' is a monthly prize draw run by the PTA where 50% of cash generated makes up the lottery prize and 50% is kept by the PTA for the benefit of the school. Membership of the club is open to all parents, carers, staff and governors of Waldegrave School. Membership ceases when your daughter leaves the school or your association with the school ends. Individual numbers may be purchased for a year's membership and will cost as follows: £15 for 1 number, £24 for 2 numbers, £36 for 3 numbers, £48 for 4 numbers and £60 for 5 numbers. There is no limit to the amount of numbers you can buy. Each month the prizes will be drawn at the PTA meeting. The prizes are:
  •  First prize is 25% of monthly income
  • Second prize is 15% of monthly income
  • Third prize is 5% of monthly income
  • 5% is kept back monthly and accumulates to form a Christmas Bonus Prize
