Academy Status
February 2012 - Message from Mrs P Nunn, Headteacher
On 31 January 2012 the Governing Body of Waldegrave School passed a resolution in favour of conversion to academy status. In reaching their decision, the governors considered responses to the consultations which took place in the autumn term as well as issues including employment, finance, governance and equalities.
We expect conversion to take place from June 2012 although this may be affected by the timing of Richmond Council’s decision about whether to establish a sixth form at the school.
The governors and I are looking forward to continuing the school’s success without unnecessary change but with the greater flexibility of resources and the independence of working together as a family of schools.
The name of the school and the uniform will remain the same, as will the current admission arrangements. The school will retain the current terms and conditions for all current and new staff.
I would like to thank all those parents, students and staff who responded to the consultation and helped the governors to make this decision.

Our governing body is considering whether to convert to academy status. As part of our detailed exploration we have sought views and comments on whether the school should convert to academy status. Thank you to parents and students who responded to the consultation, which closed on 21 October. The consultation documents are still available below.
Governors will meet to discuss and investigate this further and a decision will be made in the spring term.
